Cheryl A. Faber, M.D.

Cheryl A. Faber, M.D.

Dr. Cheryl Faber earned a B.A. degree in English and a B.S. degree in Cell Biology at the University of Kansas. She went on to earn her medical degree and complete her internship and residency in Neurology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Since that time she has been providing neurological care to the St. Louis community with Neurology Associates, Inc.

Dr. Faber has extensive training and expertise in the use of botulinum toxin (BOTOX) for treatment of neurological diseases, including such conditions as dystonia, spasticity, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, headache, and muscle spasm. She is in the process of receiving additional training exploring the cosmetic uses of botulinum toxin and will soon be offering this service to patients as well.

In addition to botulinum toxin injections, Dr. Faber is skilled in a number of other neurological procedures. She performs nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG) for evaluation of diseases of the peripheral nervous system. She interprets electroencephalograms (EEG) for evaluation of epilepsy and other diseases of the central nervous system. She also performs lumbar punctures (spinal taps) for evaluation of a number of different neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis and infections of the nervous system.

Dr. Faber has a special interest in educating patients, as well as members of the medical community. She is an active speaker and patient educator for the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society, Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA), and the Benign Essential Blepharospasm Research Foundation (BEBRF). She has also worked closely with a number of other patient education and advocacy groups. She is involved in instructing medical residents at St. Mary's Hospital in the art and science of neurological care. Dr. Faber also regularly provides continuing medical education (CME) lectures for physicians and allied health care providers on various aspects of neurological illness and treatment.
